Chatting is the core of AI Peeps. You message your Peep, they reply in character, and the conversation builds over time — with memory keeping things consistent.
Mobile vs In-Person mode
Every chat runs in one of two interaction modes, and they feel genuinely different:
- 🗣️ In-Person — you're together in a scene. Both you and your Peep can add actions and narration by wrapping text in asterisks, like
*walks over and sits down*. This is what makes immersive roleplay tick. - 📱 Mobile — pure texting, exactly like a messaging app: just dialogue, no actions. (Switch on voice chat in this mode and it becomes a phone call — which re-enables actions.)
Cost
- Subscribers chat with unlimited text messages — no coin cost.
- Free users get 30 free text messages per day, and can keep going beyond that for 2 PeepCoins per message.

The Chat Profile
Tap your Peep's avatar to open the Chat Profile — the control panel for this chat. From there you can reach:
- Your profile for this chat (see below)
- The scenario — view and edit it
- Memory triggers and access to the Peep's memories (see Memory)
Your profile
Your Peep can know something about you, too. Each chat can have its own user profile — a short description of who you are in that conversation, unique to that chat.
So you don't rewrite it every time, you can also save reusable default profiles on your User page and drop them into any chat.
Editing & managing messages
You're in control of the transcript. On any message you can:
- ✏️ Edit it — works on your messages and your Peep's (great for nudging the story back on track).
- Delete a single message.
- Delete a message and everything above it in one go.
Turn messages into voice
Want to hear a line instead of reading it? Tap a message bubble (or an action), then the 🔊 icon, and it'll be spoken aloud. See Voice for more.
Once a message has been voiced, a new icon appears next to it — tap it to send that exact audio into the Generate Video panel and make a talking video lip-synced to it. See Video.
More than text
Inside a chat you can also:
- Request or send a photo — see Images.
- Use voice — speak and hear replies. See Voice.
- Generate a video from the chat — see Video Generation.
Where chats are stored
Every chat lives in a slot — a couple of temporary ones and a larger, plan-based number of permanent ones. An unsaved chat (and sometimes the Peep in it) can be removed to make room.
